My New Baby Budgies

These are my new baby budgies. There are six altogether. Snowy is the mother and Titch is the father. They are 6 weeks old. The blue one is called Blueboy and he is the eldest and he can fly. The green one is called Nibbles, because he always nibbles my ear. The other bird is my brother Tom's and he hasn't named it yet. There are three more younger birds still growing feathers.

Eisteddfod - 1st prize

I entered the Hobart Eisteddfod. I played The Juggler and Merlin the Wizard on the piano. I won first prize out of 15 contestants.

Rainbow

Science Experiement

Red, blue and yellow are called the primary colors. Just by mixing these colors, you can get all the colors of the rainbow:

RED + YELLOW = ORANGE

RED + BLUE = PURPLE

BLUE + YELLOW = GREEN

What you need:
-red, blue and yellow food color
-1 cup milk
-dishwashing liquid
-shallow bowl or plate

What to do:
-Pour 1 cup of milk into the bowl
-Add 3 drops of red food color to one edge of the bowl
-1/3 of the way away, add 3 drops of blue food color
-1/3 of the way away add 3 drops of yellow
don't mix or jiggle the bowl

-Squeeze a drop of dish soap in the center of the bowl

What I saw:
The colours swirled and made lots of patterns.

What Happened:
The dishwashing liquid does not mix with the milk. Instead it floats on top and spreads over the surface. As it spreads, it grabs the food color we dropped into it. Where the colors meet, they combine to form new colors:

RED + YELLOW = ORANGE

RED + BLUE = PURPLE

BLUE + YELLOW = GREEN

Mothers Day Classic

On Sunday,it was Mother's Day. We did the Mother's Day Classic. It is a walk or run to raise money for breast cancer research. Runners have to run either 4km or 8 kilometers and walkers only do 4 km.
My Uncle Robbie did the 4 kilometer run and so did Margie and Daniel. Our whole family did the 4km walk with Ninny and Pa. It was fun. I asked Mum if could go up further I was a long way in front of them. When they came to do the lap around the track I had already finished and was waiting with my bag there for about 10 minutes. I got a medal in the bag and so did everyone else it was a great walk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We will do it again next year.

my holiday

On the easter holidays I went to Gretna. Our friend has a dairy farm up there and they let us camp there. It was fun . We went fishing I almost caught one, it was on the line when it got away. We went went on walks and we did loads of stuff. We went on a drive at night and we saw 2 possoms and lots of wallabys. it was great fun.

My Tree House
Yesterday I built a part of a tree house. My friend and I also put a horse shoe in there and

a goats horn we found. We also found a little pond on the way there.

Rocket Science

About a month ago I did an evperiment with a soda bottle. We got a soft drink bottle and a cork then cut an old camera film tube and sticky taped it on. Then put 1 cup of vinger in with 1/2 a cup of bicarbonated soda in a wraped up paper towel. We took it out side and put it upside down on a cricket stump and then put the bicarbanated soda in as fast as you can, put the cork in turn up side down and wait for it to explode.

It went so high, I couldn't believe it. I will add some pictures tomorrow.
